ChatGPT Shortcut Codes: 176 Copy-Ready Prompts

You may have seen people type /headshot or /productexplosion into ChatGPT and get a polished result back. It looks like a hidden command list. As far as I can tell, there is no official one. A code like that is a nickname for a prompt, and it works when ChatGPT knows what the nickname stands for.

I am passionate about using AI tools to get more done with less effort. This page collects shortcuts for the jobs that come up most, from everyday work and writing to business and images, so you can find the right one fast. Every code has the full prompt behind it and a copy button. Use the search box or the category buttons to filter, or jump to a section.

How to make the codes work

There are two ways to use this page.

Paste and go. Copy a prompt, fill in the [brackets], and send it. This works on any plan with no setup.

Type the code and let ChatGPT expand it. Build a Custom GPT, upload this library as its knowledge file, and paste the instruction below. Then /dealsummary expands into the full prompt on its own. Instruction fields have length limits, which is why a knowledge file is a better home for a long library.

  1. Copy the sections you want into a document and save it as a PDF or text file.
  2. In ChatGPT, create a new Custom GPT and give it a name such as Shortcut Assistant.
  3. Paste the router instruction below into its instructions.
  4. Upload your file under knowledge. Turn on image generation and web search if you want those codes.
  5. Keep it private and pin it in your sidebar.

Router instruction

You are my shortcut assistant. This knowledge file contains a library of slash codes.
When my message starts with a code (for example /dealsummary), look it up in the library,
expand it into its full prompt, fill in any [bracketed] details from my message or my upload,
and run it. If a required detail is missing, ask one short question first.
I can stack several codes and + modifiers (for example /pov /wide /motionblur, or /email +formal +short).
Combine them into one prompt, in order.
If I type a code that is not in the library, tell me and suggest the closest match.

Words in [brackets] are slots you fill in. Prompts marked (upload) need a photo attached.

Stackable + modifiers

No words or letters anywhere in the image.

Sales ops codes

Prompts for sales operations work: summarizing deals for approvers, checking quotes and reviewing terms. Replace anything in [brackets], and do not paste confidential customer, pricing or contract details into ChatGPT unless your company policy allows it.

  • /dealsummarySummarize a deal for approvers

These skills are real workflows, not nicknames. Each generation spends Higgsfield credits, so start the chat with: “State the credit cost and wait for my OK before generating anything.” The motion design and production skills need desktop software such as After Effects or Blender. Questions

Are these official ChatGPT commands?

No. As far as I can tell, ChatGPT has no official list of slash codes. These are saved prompts with short nicknames. The only real commands on this page are the @Higgsfield skills, which belong to Higgsfield’s plugin.

Do I need a paid plan?

Pasting a prompt works on any plan. Image codes need image generation, which depends on your plan. Building a Custom GPT generally needs a paid plan, so check OpenAI’s current plan details before you start.

Can I use these in Claude or another assistant?

Yes, the text prompts work in any capable assistant. I wrote a separate guide for Claude, covering Projects and Skills: Claude shortcut codes.

Is it safe to use the Sales ops codes with real deals?

Check your company policy first. Use placeholders for customer names, pricing and contract terms, or work from anonymized examples, unless your employer has approved the tool for that data.

Why do image codes sometimes misspell words or change faces?

Image models are still weak at exact text and at keeping a face identical across edits. Proofread every word in the image and compare the result against the original photo before you use it.

Where to go next

The same library, adapted for Claude, is here: Claude shortcut codes. To see more of my work, visit my Career page, or get in touch if you want to swap ideas on using AI to be more productive.
